About our Founder: Jerald D. Steffen

Education:
• June, 1969 – Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Business Statistics from the University of Oregon.
• September 11, 1972 Certification as a Certified Public Accountant from the State of Oregon after completing the uniform CPA exam and two years of relevant experience with Arthur Anderson & Co in Portland, Oregon office.
• Continuing Education: The state standards for CPA’s require ongoing continuing education of 40 hours each year to renew their license to practice. Mr. Steffen exceeds that requirement each year with courses updating his knowledge in all areas of his practice.

Community Involvement:
• Member of Silverton Rotary Club for over 15 years
• Rotarian of the Year for 1998
• Active in local church congregation, has served as President and Treasurer.
• Elected 4 times to 3 year terms on the Silverton Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Served as President of Chamber in 1993 and 2001.
• Nominated for First Citizen of Silverton for 2001.
